The process
From sketch to silk
Every Nadora Iman print takes the same path, from a single idea to the piece in your hands. Here's how it happens.
-
Step 01
The idea
Every print starts with a moment: a from a photo from traveling, a painted plate at dinner, a season, a feeling the women in our community are carrying.
-
Step 02
The sketch
Every print is drawn by hand in Procreate. No stock art, no shortcuts: line by line, until the drawing feels like it has something to say.
-
Step 03
The colorway
Then the palette. I build the colors and pull the drawing apart into elements, so the print works at every scale: the full scene for a silk scarf, a single motif for a scrunchy, a clip or a card.
-
Step 04
Sampling
The design meets silk for the first time. A sample shows how the colors really read and how the drape moves the drawing, which a screen can never tell you.
-
Step 05
Production
Once the sample is right, the print goes into production on 100% silk, along with the pieces that carry it: scrunchies, ponytail scarves, cards and canvases.
-
Step 06
Finishing
Before anything reaches you, I photograph and test the samples and send detailed feedback to the manufacturer. Every piece is finished, checked and packed with care.
-
Step 07
Yours
And then it's yours. Worn in your hair, tied on your bag, framed on a wall, or given to someone who gets it.
